How setup compares
Porter Metrics connects to Claude as a custom connector: you create a Porter account, connect at least one data source, then add Porter's MCP URL in Claude and sign in. The same connections feed Porter's Looker Studio, Sheets and BigQuery destinations, which is why many teams already have them.
Caybl.ai is in Claude's connector directory, or one custom-connector URL (https://api.caybl.ai/mcp) in ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code. You sign in with Google and pick the accounts you want.
Both query the source APIs live. Porter splits reading (Reporting, billed per account) from acting (Automation, billed per task). Caybl.ai includes both in one plan, with a per-account switch for Google Ads changes and dry runs that Google validates before anything applies.
Pricing in practice: a 3-source example
Take one marketer with one GA4 property, one Google Ads account and one Search Console site.
On Porter Metrics, that's three data source accounts: $39.99/month billed monthly (annual billing takes 16.6% off), with MCP access included at no extra cost. Making changes through Automation is billed separately in credits, with 100 free a month on the free plan.
On Caybl.ai, Google Analytics is free and Google Ads plus Search Console need Pro at $29/month. Writes are included. Because Caybl.ai doesn't charge per account, an agency with ten Google Ads accounts still pays $29, while Porter's per-account price falls with volume (it lists $8 per account from five to twelve accounts).
For a single GA4 property, Porter's free-forever plan and Caybl.ai's free Google Analytics connector are both $0. Porter's free plan limits history to 30 days; Caybl.ai's free connector adds no history cap of its own.
Switching from Porter Metrics to Caybl.ai in 5 minutes
1. Go to caybl.ai, sign in with Google and connect Google Analytics (free). On Pro, connect Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Tag Manager or YouTube from the same dashboard - each is a Google or Microsoft consent screen, with no developer token, API key or Cloud project.
2. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and add Caybl.ai from the directory - or add a custom connector with https://api.caybl.ai/mcp. In ChatGPT, add it as a custom MCP server where your plan allows it. In Claude Code, run: claude mcp add --transport http caybl https://api.caybl.ai/mcp
3. Ask the same question you normally ask Porter Metrics, for the same date range, and compare the numbers. Small differences usually come from date ranges, time zones or conversion columns - ask both to state theirs.
4. If your Google Ads account should stay read-only, turn off 'Allow changes' on that account in your Caybl.ai dashboard before asking for fixes.
5. Keep Porter if your Looker Studio reports run on it. Caybl.ai sits beside it for the questions you ask in Claude or ChatGPT, and the two don't conflict.
What Caybl.ai doesn't do
Caybl.ai doesn't feed Looker Studio, Sheets, Power BI or BigQuery, and has no report templates. It doesn't cover Meta (coming soon), TikTok, LinkedIn, Shopify or HubSpot. If your reporting runs through dashboards or covers those channels, Porter does more.
When Porter Metrics is the better choice
- You live in Looker Studio already.
- You need sources Caybl.ai doesn't cover yet, such as Meta, TikTok or Shopify.
- You connect only one or two accounts and want the lowest price.
When Caybl.ai is the better choice
- You'd rather pay one flat price than per connected account.
- You want the AI to act on Google Ads with a dry-run preview first, included in the plan.
- You want Google Analytics free, with no history limit.
- You want Bing Webmaster Tools and Tag Manager alongside GA4, Ads and Search Console.
