How to connect Google Ads to ChatGPT

You connect Google Ads to ChatGPT by adding Caybl.ai as a connector. Authorize once, then ask about campaigns, spend and search terms - or let ChatGPT make changes you approve first.

Can you connect Google Ads to ChatGPT?

Yes, but not directly - ChatGPT has no built-in access to Google Ads. It reaches outside services through connectors built on MCP, and Caybl.ai is a hosted one, so there is no server to run and no developer token of your own to apply for. You authorize the Google account that already has access to the Ads account, and ChatGPT can query it from then on.

Steps

Step 1

Sign in with Google

Use the account that already has access to your Ads account.

Step 2

Connect Google Ads

Choose read, or read and write - either needs Caybl.ai’s Pro plan.

Step 3

Add the endpoint

Copy it from your dashboard into ChatGPT’s Settings → Connectors.

Step 4

Ask

“Which search terms spent over 50 with no conversions in the last 30 days?”

What you can ask

  • Diagnose“Which campaigns are losing impression share to budget rather than rank?”
  • Find waste“Show me search terms that spent over 50 with no conversions in the last 30 days.”
  • Rank“Which ad groups have the worst cost per conversion this month?”
  • Research“Suggest keyword ideas for this landing page, with volume and bid estimates.”
  • Compare“Compare this month to last, and tell me what changed and why.”

“Which ad groups have the worst cost per conversion this month?”

“Ad group ‘Brand - Search’ is worst at $18.40 per conversion, more than double the account average of $7.90. The next two ad groups are within 10% of each other, so start there.”

Illustrative example - not real account data.

What stops ChatGPT spending my money?

The honest answer to the question everyone asks first. The protection is layered, not a single setting - full detail in the FAQ below.

Your switch

Changes are opt-in

Turn off “Allow changes” and every read tool still works.

Dry run

Preview first

Google validates the whole change and shows what would break.

Default

Created paused

New campaigns, ad groups, keywords and ads never start serving on their own.

Audit trail

Every call logged

Your dashboard shows what was asked and when.

The reasoning runs in ChatGPT, on your own plan. Caybl.ai only fetches or changes the Google Ads data your agent asked for.

Google Ads and Google Analytics together

Most useful advertising questions cross both. Ads knows what you paid for a click; Analytics knows what happened next. Connect both and you can ask which campaigns bring traffic that actually converts, and get one answer instead of two exports and a spreadsheet. See connecting Google Analytics to ChatGPT.

Connect Google Ads and Google Analytics

Analytics is free to connect. Enabling Google Ads needs Caybl.ai’s Pro plan.
