Engagement rate

The percentage of sessions that were 'engaged' - lasted 10+ seconds, had a conversion event, or had 2+ page/screen views. It's GA4's replacement for (the inverse of) bounce rate.

Ask it in plain English

"Which pages have the lowest engagement rate?"

Good to know

Not a simple inverse of Universal Analytics' bounce rate math - a 60% engagement rate here isn't directly comparable to a 40% bounce rate from a UA-era report on the same page, because the qualifying criteria (10+ seconds, a conversion, or 2+ views) are a different definition entirely, not a renamed one.
