# YouTube channel review

Uses the Caybl.ai connector. If its `youtube_` tools aren't available, tell the user to connect YouTube at https://caybl.ai/dashboard and stop. If more than one channel is connected, ask which one (pass it as `channel`).

## 1. Headline

Call `youtube_channel_overview`. Lead the review with one sentence: views and watch time for the last 28 days vs the 28 before, and net subscribers.

## 2. What worked

- `youtube_top_videos` by views and again by watchTime (limit 10). Videos that are high on watch time but not views are under-promoted; high views but low watch time usually means a weak hook or a misleading thumbnail.
- `youtube_performance_report` with `dimension: "creatorContentType"`: Shorts vs long-form, including subscribers gained.

- If the channel is monetized, `youtube_revenue` for the same period: estimated revenue, RPM, and the top earners. Videos with high views but low RPM, or the reverse, are worth calling out. If it says the channel isn't monetized, skip revenue.

## 3. How people find the channel

- `youtube_traffic_sources` (overall split), then with `type: "YT_SEARCH"` for search terms.
- If Search Console is connected, compare the top YouTube search terms with the site's top Google queries. Topics strong on Google but missing on YouTube are video ideas.

## 4. Where viewers leave

`youtube_video_retention` for the top 3 long-form videos. Report the flags in plain words (intro losses, sharp drops) and what they suggest.

## 5. Report

Keep it short:
1. Headline (1-2 sentences)
2. Top videos table (title, views, watch hours, average % watched, and revenue/RPM if monetized)
3. Where views come from, and the top search terms
4. Retention notes
5. **What to make next**: 2-3 concrete video ideas, each tied to evidence above (a search term with demand, a topic that holds attention, a gap vs Google)

Say which date range you used. YouTube Analytics lags 2-3 days, so the period ends 3 days ago.
